Field Visit- Poly House


  IB belives in involving the community  in the learning process. To enhance the learners  knowledge related to unit of inquiry, they visited a poly house where they acquired new facts about living things.






Experiment for photosynthesis


 To develop students research skills, they done an experiment to understand the concept, what will happen if leaves don't get the sunlight  for 3- 4 days. To understand this they covered  some part of the a leave with black chat paper. They observed after 4 days that the part of the leave which was covered with the paper turned brown in colour as the leave don't get sunlight which was necessary for performing photosynthesis.. 





Adjectives


 In this activity students describe themselves on the basis of kind, size, colour & number & write the words related to it. They comprehended the criteria on the basis of which we can describe any person or a thing.




Human life cycle


 As IB believes in learning through real life situation. To understand the human life cycle, students were pasted their own  photographs to show the growth from infancy to childhood.

Butterfly life cycle


 Through a role play done in the class, Students were able to understand the life cycle of the butterfly. They comprehended that there are total 4 stages in it & the different names used for each stage.

Group activity for herbivore, carnivore and omnivore




 To differentiate between the herbivore, carnivore & omnivore, a group activity was performed by the students. Through this activity their thinking skills were develop as they have to sort the pictures first out of the given pictures & paste accordingly.

Daily opportunities are provided at school for students to practice these trans disciplinary skills that are valuable for learning inside & outside of the classroom. Through this activity their thinking & communications skills were develop.

IB attitudes are a vital focus in the development of positive attitudes towards people, the environment & learning. Students reflect on the attitudes during poster making like creativity, cooperation & respect.

Students shown enthusiasm, curiosity, integrity & cooperation to find out the similarities & differences between living & non-living things through Venn diagram.
